We provide a full general practice service and offer patients specialist advice and support in the following areas.

Our patients have access to midwives for Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire with regular Antenatal Clinics held at Tring, Pitstone and Berkhamsted surgeries. Patients are asked to self-refer to the hospital of their choice and the midwives will then arrange their booking in appointment, to take place between 8-10 weeks of pregnancy.

Patients wishing to self refer to the Hertfordshire Midwife for Watford General or Hemel Hempstead Hospital should complete this form.

Patients wishing to self refer to the Buckinghamshire Midwifes for Stoke Mandeville Hospital should complete this form.

Due to the current Covid Pandemic patients of the Markyate Branch that wish to be under the care of

Luton and Dunstable Antenatal Team are asked to complete a self-referral to the Midwives using this form.

Asthma Management

Our clinical pharmacists are trained to provide advice and support to patients with this condition. They currently hold regular asthma clinics with all appointments scheduled as telephone calls.

If you have been advised by the surgery to submit an annual review of your asthma symptoms please complete the Asthma Review form in the Admin Room. If your symptoms are deteriorating or you are having any concerns please make an appointment with a clinical pharmacist.

Babies and Children’s Vaccinations

We follow the National Immunisation Guidelines and Nurse lead Baby Immunisation appointments are held at each of our sites.  You can find information on all the vaccinations currently or recently offered on the NHS Immunisations site. This includes information about the ages that vaccines should be given, and the diseases they protect against.

If you do not wish your child to receive a particular immunisation we require a specific signed request from the mother. Please remember to bring your red book with you as it might not be possible to immunise your child without it.

We have first contact physio appointments available at our Tring, Berkhamsted and Markyate sites. Patients with back and joint pain, including conditions such as arthritis, are now able to contact our first contact physio’s directly, rather than waiting to see a GP or being referred to hospital.

First contact physio’s can help patients with musculoskeletal issues by:

  • Assessing and diagnosing issues.
  • Giving expert advice on how best to manage their conditions.
  • Referring them onto specialist services if necessary.
  • Administering steroid injections.

You can book an appointment with one of our first contact physio’s by speaking to our Patient Services Team (reception). Please note appointments cannot be made for children under 16 years of age.

Social Prescribing

Many things affect your health and wellbeing. GP’s tell us that a lot of people  visit them feeling isolated or lonely. Or they might be stressed out by money, work and housing problems. Sometimes it’s the stress of managing different long-term conditions. That’s where social prescribing will come in.  Our GPs can refer you to our Social Prescriber who can listen and help put you in touch with the right people or activities that might help you to feel better.

Diabetic Management

All our patients with diabetes are encouraged to attend our surgery for annual diabetic reviews. Diabetic clinics are held regularly at all our sites. We have a specialist Practice Nurse who can provide advice and support for patients with this condition.

Family Planning Services

All Doctors provide full contraception services during the course of normal surgery consultations. They have undergone special training in order to give this service.

Patients wishing to have a coil or implant fitted will be asked to attend our Tring site for their appointment.

Joint Injections

A number of our doctors are able to administer joint injections if deemed appropriate treatment. We ask that you book an appointment with your named GP to discuss this first.
